Golfing and fishing are available nearby, as are ferries to the San Juan Islands. Minutes away lie the Skagit Valley bulb farms whose spectacular blooms are celebrated every spring during the two-week long Tulip Festival. This preserve is also located 1/4 mile from a casino with shuttle service provided.

From I-5: Take I-5 to Exit 236 (Bow Hill) 10 miles north of Mount Vernon and 16 miles south of Bellingham. Drive east on Bow Hill Rd. to stoplight. Turn left at stoplight and right at 3-way stop on Darrk Lane N. Proceed 3/4 mile to the Ranger Station.
