Campground Name: THOUSAND TRAILS: ORLANDO
Category: RV Destinations
Highlights: Orlando has all the standard amenities – sparkling pools, a spa, horseshoe pits, a volleyball court, playgrounds, and an adult lodge (with adjoining billiards room). Other features, however, truly stand out: a beautifully appointed mini-golf course, recently resurfaced tennis courts, several shuffleboard courts, a peaceful nature trail and an expansive fire ring/day use area. A large ballroom inside the Activity Center is perfect for special events, group functions or perhaps a line-dancing course or two.

A dock, a boat launch, and a modest beach area extend access to the lake, where you can relax and enjoy indigenous flora and fauna, including alligators, cranes, rabbits, raccoons, and owls. Tent camping along the lake allows a more rustic experience in the lazy, tropical surroundings.

The Orlando preserve is already a sure favorite winter and year-round vacation destination. When people think of Orlando, most think “oranges,” “alligators,” and especially, “Mickey.” Thousand Trails members, on the other hand, tend to think of the park that exudes class, comfort and convenience – not just the much-hyped local attractions. In short, the preserve is the attraction.
