Watch the sky melt into sunset pastels over Western Bay from your waterfront site at the Bar Harbor KOA. Its 3,500 feet of Atlantic shoreline by the entrance to Acadia National Park includes a private swimming beach and an occasional sideshow from the local seals. Launch your boat or rent a kayak for a loon’s-eye view of Mount Desert Island, its wooded contours rising more than 1,500 feet up Cadillac Mountain. Drive, hike or bike to the top.
The resort town of Bar Harbor lies far below, the Cranberry Islands beckoning out in the bay. An hourly shuttle runs from KOA to Bar Harbor in season. Whale-watching and fishing boats hire out, and restaurants specialize in lobster and blueberry pies. Or boil your own lobster in the pot back at your site. Ask us about our new KOA Lodge!
