Set at 7,000 feet in a stand of Ponderosa pines, the shady Flagstaff KOA makes a perfect hub for exploring northern Arizona’s attractions.
In summer, ride the nearby Skyride up to 11,500 feet for an overview that includes the Grand Canyon, Coconino National Forest and Flagstaff. Set out on hiking trails right from your campsite. Or go south of the city, where a paved walkway leads down into Walnut Canyon and its ancient cliff dwellings carved into the walls. Drive among Oak Creek Canyon’s multihued cliffs, then browse the shops of Sedona, a thriving tourist town. Flagstaff’s Northern Arizona Museum features local geology and native cultures, and you can shop and dine in Historic Old Flagstaff. KOA staff can help arrange tours.
